In this week’s blog, we are joined by former Commodore, professional ballplayer, Cubs coach, Seattle Mariners’ Operations Coordinator, Mariners Minor League Manager and, currently, back with the Commodores as Assistant Coach at college powerhouse, Vanderbilt, David Macias.

David has spent many years in both professional baseball and in the SEC.  We asked David a simple question: what’s the common thread with the guys that “get it” and keep progressing level to level?

Macias says a lot of things can come into play, but the guys that can make it and do well are just so committed to what they are doing.  Their passion for the game of baseball is unparalleled; if you don’t love what you do you will have a tough time succeeding in this game.

“Baseball isn’t 9-5, it’s 24/7…”
