In this week’s Recruiting Blog, we are joined by Penn State’s Rob Cooper.  Coach Cooper tells us what he looks for when recruiting: the guys who know how to play hard and compete.

Obviously, Coach Cooper is keeping his eye out for top talent that can compete at the division one level, but if you don’t have good body language you’ll never get serious looks.

These are the guys that stick out a lot more to college coaches.  Coach Cooper says that he is seeing too many coaches and players at the youth level accept bad body language.

Cooper doesn’t like how in some cases there is a “World Series” every weekend and now some tournaments guarantees kids play at least 4-5 games.

The bottom line: talent isn’t enough; be tough and know how to compete.

“Get comfortable being uncomfortable…”
