Today, we are have one of the most respected college pitching coaches in the country.

In addition to winning back-to-back national titles while at Oregon State (2006-07), he was part of the staff that led the Beavers to three straight College World Series appearances (2005-2007) and back-to-back Pac-10 titles in 2005-2006.

He also served as the program’s recruiting coordinator and brought in three nationally-ranked recruiting classes.

Oh, and Collegiate Baseball Magazine named him the National Pitching Coach of the Year in 2007.

Who’s the mystery coach?

Current Washington State Associate Head Coach, Dan Spencer.

In his career at Oregon State, Texas Tech and New Mexico, coach Spencer coached 12 players to 26 All-American awards, and had 35 players selected in the first 10 rounds of the Major League Baseball draft.

It’s safe to say that Coach Spencer understands recruiting and pitching as well as anyone out there.

Today Coach Spencer sits down with us and weighs in on the type of pitchers he wants on his staff, the winning mindset he wants his guys to have, his top advice to high school pitchers and more.

Here is the video, enjoy!
